Hello friends, I'm back with another Magnolia creation. This time I've made a Summer Canvas Book using these beautiful stamps from Magnolia's latest collection, Summer Memories. This project was so much fun to create but also very time consuming. I took lots of pictures to capture all the details, hope you enjoy them!
To make my Summer Canvas Book, I used two 8" x 8" stretched canvases that I first painted with blue acrylic paint. When it was dry, I applied a thick coat of Distress crackle paint, picket fence. I then decorated the backside of the canvases
with My Mind's Eye and Teresa Collins pattern papers. I love using the
backside of the canvases because the wooden frames create niches that
give dimension to my scene. Before I stared adding all my dimensional objects, I hinged the canvases together.
I water colored my images with Distress Inks. For the first scene, I
used Tilda Offshore, Edwin Waiting for Fish, Memory Shells and a
hand-drawn beach background.
❤❤❤
I love decorating with 3-dimesnional objects like this Tim Holtz corked
vial that I filled in with golden microbeads and a cute little cut-out fish.
❤❤❤
❤❤❤
I used Magnolia Cloud Doohickey die and Tim Holtz Scrollwork die cut to simulate some waves.
The sentiment is from Magnolia stamps and the metal charm from my local craft store.
❤❤❤
For the second scene, I used my
beautiful Pearl Tilda and Oyster with Pearl. I machine stitched around
both scenes, using a scallop stitch pattern.
Although it's hard to tell from these pictures, I applied Stickles to Miss Tilda and her cute sea house. And I also added some liquid pearls around the oyster.
❤❤❤
The gorgeous flowers are Wild Orchid Crafts and the acetate and cardstock cut outs are K&Company.
❤❤❤
These little sea shells prefect for my project are from my local craft store.
I would like to enter:
TOMIC: 1st Anniversary, Anything Goes
MDUC: Bingo (charms, die-cuts, paint)
Thanks for visiting!
Hugs,
